What Medical Assistants DO:
Most medical assistants work in physicians’ offices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Medical Assistants record patient’s medical history, vital stats or information such as test results and medical records, interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, height, etc., prepare treatment rooms for patient exams, collect blood, tissue or other lab specimens, log specimens and prepare them for testing.
How to Become a Medical Assistant:
Medical Assistant positions are required to have specialized certifications. Medical Assistant certificate are obtained by attending an accredited training school such as Austin Career Institute.
